What has happened

Twenty-four yearlings are in a twelve-week preparation for the January sale, including a draft of six owned by Bellbrook Bloodstock. Week four starts on 14 September 2026. The Stud Manager wants a written feeding, exercise and handling schedule for the Bellbrook six, a consignment paperwork checklist, and an owner update by 20 September. One yearling, Bellbrook Lass, is handling well, but two others are reported as behind on condition and one is difficult to catch. The stud book inspection of foals and yearlings is booked for 20 October, and vaccination and identification records must be complete before then.

What to look for

Evidence guide

Look for a schedule that is specific per yearling rather than one plan for all six, a handling approach that is quiet and safe for the difficult yearling, and paperwork that matches stud book and sale company requirements. The owner update must be honest about the two yearlings behind on condition and approved before sending.
