Fire danger period starts, paddock plan in force

The fire danger period for the Nagambie district is expected to be declared in the coming weeks. From today the Emergency Management Plan paddock moves apply on any day of extreme fire danger. Check the roster for your emergency controller each shift and confirm you know the assembly point at your property.

Foaling roster published for September to December

The night foaling roster for the 2026 season is on the stud office board and in the Trackwork and Stable Roster. Attendants must complete the foaling refresher with Bruce before their first night shift. The on-call veterinarian details are on the foaling shed wall. Report any swap to the Stud Manager, not to each other.

Stewards' stable inspection expected this month

Racing stewards have advised that stable inspections will take place across the region during September. Inspections are unannounced. Every treatment must be in the Treatment and Medication Log before it is given, the medication room must be locked, and the vaccination book must be current. Ask Dr Nasser if you are unsure about any product.

Wash bay drain repair on 16 September

The loose concrete at the Cranbourne wash bay drain will be repaired on 16 September. The wash bay will be closed from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and horses must be hosed at the yard taps. Keep the barricade in place until the contractor removes it. Thanks to Sam for reporting the hazard through the register.

Event

Owners' morning at Cranbourne, 17 October

Owners and syndicate members are invited to watch trackwork and have breakfast at the Cranbourne stables on Saturday 17 October from 6:00 am. Staff on shift will be asked to walk horses for viewing. Visitors must sign in and follow the biosecurity rules at the entry. Liam is coordinating numbers with the syndicate managers.
